Carrigan, Henry


b. 1815, in Ireland; d. January 28, 1868, in Springfield, Illinois. Carrigan opened the Carrigan Hotel in Springfield, Illinois, in November 1842. In 1850, he made his living as a hotel keeper and possessed real estate worth $2,000. By 1860, he owned real estate valued at $30,000 and had personal property worth $300. He operated the hotel until his death.
